Profile: Dr. Shahid Baqar SI(M) is a PhD graduate, with a total of 37 years combined experience of higher education management, teaching and research along with electronics systems development, management and maintenance for Pakistan Air Force. Well conversant with HEIs financial regulations, academic statutes and human resource hiring, development and retention. He has served at NUST-CAE, NUST-SEECS and Air University as HOD and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Technology) at AHQs. Dr. Shahid is a PEC Program Evaluator (PEV) for OBE based accreditation, also an Avionics Engineering expert for national level Engineering Curriculum Review & Development Committee (ECRDC) and working as HOD Avionics at KIET.
Research Interest: Electronic Warfare, ELINT, RWR, ECCM, Electro-Optics Infra-Red (EO/IR) and Lasers, RF Microwave, Radars and Passive sensors, Airborne Avionics Systems for Fighter Aircraft and UAVs, Modelling and Simulation.

Profile: Syed Najeeb Haider Jafri is associated with KIET since 22-Sep-2008 and is performing as Director College of Engineering since 2014. Mr. Jafri has served Pakistan Air Force for 31 years. He is an Avionics Engineer and has an extensive experience of Aircraft and Radar System Engineering. He has also received degree in Strategic Studies and Human Resource Management. He spearheaded the manufacturing of Pakistan’s first Airborne Radar at PAC Kamra.

Research Interest: Avionics, AI, Image Processing, Virtual Retina Display and Direct Voice Input.

Dr. Muhammad Tayyab

Profile: Dr. Muhammad Tayyab Yaqoob has received a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2022 where he developed an improved, version of teaching learning based optimization (TLBO) method to improve the power quality of multilevel inverters by optimizing its switching angles. Previously, he completed BE (Electrical) from Bahria University, Karachi in 2010 and MS in Electronic Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan in 2016. He possesses nearly 14 years of experience in academia, including both national and international universities, where while attaining higher education, he actively participated in undergraduate teaching, and research activities. To date, he has published numerous articles in prestigious international conferences as well as reputed scientific journals.
Research Interest: Optimization, Robotics, Swarm Intelligence, Power Electronics.

Profile: Dr. Muhammad Shafiq boasts over 12 years of distinguished experience in academia, specializing in Robotics and AI. Holding a PhD in Electronic Engineering, he has cultivated extensive practical expertise in robotics, control systems, and multi-agent systems. Dr. Shafiq has been at the forefront of pioneering research, with his work published in leading international journals and conference proceedings. His commitment extends beyond research; he has significantly contributed to the global peer review process, providing critical assessments for high-impact journals. Throughout his career, he has supervised and mentored numerous graduate and postgraduate students, guiding them in their research projects and fostering innovation. Dr. Shafiq’s collaborative approach has enabled him to lead interdisciplinary projects, making substantial contributions to advancements in autonomous systems and AI-driven applications.

Profile: Dr. Wakeel Shah completed his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from NED University in 2023, specializing in photovoltaics. He brings a wealth of expertise in renewable energy, particularly in the field of advanced solar technology optimization and electronic characterization. With a strong background in photovoltaics, Dr. Shah is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in sustainable energy solutions. Before joining KIET as an Assistant Professor in the Avionics Department, he served at the Sindh Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT), contributing significantly to research initiatives and academic development.

Research Interest: Photovoltaics, semiconductor devices, Renewable energy, Advance materials for energy conversion.

Profile: Mr. Fahd has more than 5 years of industry experience in CMOS IC designing. He has worked in Monolithic Solutions Inc an IC design firm having held the position of Senior Analog IC Design Engineer. He has experience in working at the cutting-edge RF CMOS technology having worked with high profile industry customers such as Microchip and LG electronics.

Research Interest: Transmitter and Receiver Front-end Design, Power Amplifiers, High Speed PLLs for CMOS ICs. CMOS readout circuit design.

Managed several projects as “Project Manager” within time and budget. Have strong handson experience of working on practical systems. Equally capable of working individually or in a team. Actively involved in various final year projects of students.

Profile: Farooq Alam did his post-graduation in Electrical Engineering specialization control theory from the NUST-PNEC, Karachi. He has more than 4 years of research experience in the field of linear/ nonlinear control systems, sensor-less machine drives and control systems implementation using the FPGAs. He is an active member of IEEE Control and Power system societies and invited several renowned conferences as a guest speaker as well as an evaluator. He joined KIET as Lecturer and have 5 years of academic teaching experience. He has 4 IEEE conference research publications and a paper in the ISI indexed journal.
